Role Summary
The Implementation Specialist is responsible for onboarding both clients and their suppliers onto the Optchain platform, ensuring successful implementation of traceability workflows via API, CSV, and the platform UI.
This role requires a strong combination of technical integration skills, product understanding, and supplier-facing communication to ensure high-quality data and seamless traceability across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client & Supplier Onboarding
● Lead onboarding sessions with clients and their suppliers
● Explain platform workflows, including:
○ Receiving, processing, and shipping flows
○ Traceability logic (lots, transactions, transformations)
● Guide users through: ○ Platform usage (UI)
○ CSV data uploads
○ API-based integrations
● Ensure all stakeholders understand their role in the traceability chain and can operate in the platform
2. API & Data Integration Support
● Support clients and suppliers in integrating with Optchain APIs
● Provide hands-on guidance using: ○ API documentation
● Familiarity with API tools (e.g., Postman, Insomnia) is a plus
● Explain how API interactions translate into traceability events
● Assist in testing and validating API integrations
3. Platform (UI) Enablement
● Train users to operate directly within the Optchain platform
● Support simulation of supplier behaviors via: ○ Manual entries ○ CSV uploads
● Ensure users can replicate real-life operations within the UI when APIs are not used
4. Traceability & Data Modeling
● Act as a reference for:
○ Chain of custody
○ Product transformations (input/output lots)
○ End-to-end traceability
● Ensure proper mapping between:
○ Business operations
○ Optchain data model
5. Data Quality & Validation
● Review and validate data submitted via API, CSV, or UI
● Identify and resolve issues related to:
○ Missing or incorrect transactions ○ Inconsistent lot structures
● Support users in correcting and improving data quality 6. Coordination & Delivery
● Coordinate onboarding activities across:
○ Clients
○ Suppliers
○ Internal teams (Implementation / Product)
●Track onboarding progress and ensure timely delivery
● Escalate risks and blockers proactively
Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills
● Understanding of:
○ REST APIs (requests, authentication, payloads)
○ API tools (Insomnia)
○ CSV data structures and data mapping
● Ability to troubleshoot integration issues
Functional & Product Understanding
● Strong understanding (or ability to quickly learn):
○ Supply chain operations
○ Traceability concepts (lots, transactions, transformations)
● Ability to use and explain a SaaS platform (UI) in a hands-on way
● Ability to translate business processes into system workflows
Communication Skills
● Strong ability to explain technical and functional concepts clearly
● Experience leading onboarding or training sessions
● Proactive, transparent, and comfortable raising uncertainties
Languages (Mandatory)
● Fluent English
● Fluent Mandarin Chinese (mandatory) – required to onboard and support suppliers based in China
