Software Supervisor
SUMMARY
Reporting to the development director and operating within an agile-type structure, the software development supervisor is responsible for ensuring the management and supervision of one or more multidisciplinary teams, composed of developers, software architects, quality specialists and product owners. He will have to ensure the performance and level of technical skills of each of them within their respective squads while encouraging good practices in an agile environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Structure, build and lead a highly effective team. Coach, inspire, train and hold the team accountable to produce results, disseminate best practices and increase their skills and impact
- Ensure the quality of work and individual performance of members in their squads
- Carry out annual performance evaluations and develop improvement or development plans, if necessary
- Proceed with the recruitment of new talents and the establishment of service agreements with potential partners
- Ensure close monitoring of the progress of projects with the team and communicate progress to management
- Promote the appropriate use of the various tools in place
- Promote work in close collaboration between teams and departments
- Ensure the propagation of good development practices and corporate culture
- Propose areas for improvement in our current processes and help implement solutions
- Suggest and implement tools to improve squad effectiveness
- Support a continuing training plan for team members in the form of acquisition of technical skills (coding dojo, etc.)
- Perform all other related tasks.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in software or computer engineering
- Experience of 10 years or more in the field of software development
- 3 to 7 years of experience in team management as a manager or team leader (an asset)
- Experience as a technical leader and in software architecture desirable
- Experience in object-oriented programming
- Experience in multi-tenant SaaS product development is a plus.
- Experience developing server applications and/or microservices using languages and frameworks like C#, Python, Java or JavaScript (Node.js, React.js, Typescript), etc.
